Work
The Religious Art of Andy Warhol, by art historian and curator Jane Dillenberger, documents Warhol’s surprising lifelong Catholic Church attendance and his interest in and exploration of religious themes. Included in the book are many of the paintings, drawings, and prints Warhol did based on da Vinci's Last Supper, as well as examples of his shadow and skull paintings. Published by The Continuum Publishing Company, with whom we worked closely on this complex design, this four color book includes over 85 images throughout its 130 pages.
We designed the covers and interiors for the companion volumes The Continuum Encyclopedia of Native Art and The Continuum Encyclopedia of Animal Symbolism in Art, both published by The Continuum Publishing Company. Written by art historian Hope Werness, the two books are over 350 and 450 pages respectively, and include color inserts, along with hundreds of black and white illustrations which we scanned, color-corrected, and placed in a tight page layout.
The Spiritual Traveler: England, Scotland, Wales, published by Hidden Spring Books, is a fascinating and thorough guide to spiritual locations throughout the British Isles. Its two-color design is illustrated with dozens of photos, drawings and maps, along with a color insert.
Published by Hidden Spring Books, an imprint of Paulist Press, The Voice of the Irish is a rich, illustrated volume documenting the history of Christian Ireland.
One of two books by The Dalai Lama that we designed for The Crossroad Publishing Company, this interior layout for Buddha Heart, Buddha Mind is a straightforward text design with a clear and quiet page layout.
